Details of the April 16, 2013 Service Interruption

ABBYY Cloud OCR SDK service was unavailable between 07:16 and 07:23 UTC on April 16th, 2013. All requests submitted during that time received status “ProcessingFailed” or HTTP 500 “Internal server error” was returned. The issue was linked to SQL Azure connection timeouts. After getting the errors, the processors were automatically restarted, and after 15 minutes the server was working normally again.
Corrective and preventive measures taken by ABBYY Cloud OCR SDK team
We will modify working with SQL Azure to better handle its connection errors and implement better retry logic to minimize service interruptions.
